Joy is not a luxury.
It’s not the thing you get after the work is done, the bills are paid, or the house is clean.

Joy is a life force.
It’s part of your design. And reconnecting with it—especially when life feels heavy—is part of your healing.

At Soleil Soul Wellness, we understand that for many women, especially Black women and women of color, weathering is real. It’s the toll that chronic stress, microaggressions, caregiving, and holding it all together takes on the body and spirit over time. Even when we look “well” on the outside, our cells can tell a different story.

You deserve more than just survival. You deserve to feel well—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Finding your joy and your “why” is not frivolous—it’s foundational. It’s how we begin to reclaim the parts of us that have been worn down by life.

Here are a few soulful ways to start reconnecting with your joy and your why:

  1. Name what lights you up. Is it singing? Being near water? Laughing with friends? Make space for those moments, even in small doses.
  2. Listen to your body’s whispers. Fatigue, anxiety, or aches may be signs of weathering. They’re not flaws—they’re messages. Your body is asking for care.
  3. Revisit a time when you felt most alive. What were you doing? Who were you with? What was the feeling? That’s a breadcrumb to your “why.”
  4. Stop apologizing for needing joy. You don’t need to earn it. Joy is your birthright.
  5. Ask deeper questions. What am I living for? What legacy of wellness do I want to leave behind?

You are not weak for feeling tired.
You are human for needing rest.
You are wise for seeking meaning.

Let this be a gentle reminder: you are allowed to choose joy—even in a world that tells you to keep pushing.
And you are worthy of a life that doesn’t just look good, but feels good—deep in your bones.
